Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas Council Patch programs are unique to the Southwest Texas council and are written and developed by our very own girls, volunteers and staff.

With a combined contribution of $120,000 to Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas, CPS Energy, H-E-B, Shining Star ENERGY, Valero Energy Foundation and Wells Fargo have taken the lead in supporting patch programs in each company’s area of expertise. For today’s girls, reversing environmental threats and improving quality of life will be the work of their generation. Introduces girls to all forms of art with an emphasis on education as part of its Arts Initiative. Its program will provide an in depth view of the arts in our community and its impact on personal development.

Through the encouragement of artistic expression, girls improve their self-esteem, feel motivated to explore new interests and may even develop new talents in music, dance or visual arts. STEM Initiative (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) focuses on what girls need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. The nation’s need for STEM professionals is ever-growing, and Valero’s STEM Initiative will encourage girls to push boundaries, test limits and look at the world through inquisitive eyes. 90 percent of all women will have to be financially self-sufficient. The Financial Literacy Initiative teaches today’s young entrepreneurs vital life skills, such as setting goals, budgeting and saving.

Through environmental awareness programs, girls focus on the care and conservation of our planet. They play an important role in ensuring the well-being of our earth for future generations. Patches will be given out free of charge to all GSSWT girl members. Please complete the Patch Order Form once you have finished the program.
