That sort of HDD you are talking about is SSD, in full Solid State Drive. It isn't digital, it uses flash as a way to store data(just like your thumbdrives, memory cards and what not).
SSD's space are fairly limited now, add to the fact that its price is insanely high. It'll be mainstream for laptops in 2 years time however(seeing as how much it has fallen since it was unveiled nearly a year ago).
