Canon 1d Count Program

Canon 1d Count Program Rating: 8,0/10 676votes

Veronica Top 1000 2008. I purchased a Canon 1D MK II for a great price from a reputable seller on eBay. The seller states that the shutter count has 10K clicks but when I used the software it gave me a shutter count of 106K. The seller was able to retrieve the Canon Repair invoice (sent me a copy via email) which had a shutter count of 8K plus the 3K the seller stated for a total of 10K. I feel good that Canon would have the accurate shutter count and that the seller did not put on 94K clicks in 30-60 days (possible but not likely). Other than me sending into Canon does anyone have the ability to check shutter count if I were to send them a JPEG or RAW file?

1d Count Software

Canon doesn't actually reset the count on the board when they replace a shutter. That was the primary reason I jumped all over this camera was the ultra low shutter count. I ran 1Dcount and it's also giving me a count of 106,825. In reviewing the Canon invoice (the camera serial number is the same as on the invoice) it states a 'shot count of 8398'. So, I'm assuming the total clicks is 8398. Not sure which number to rely on.

Easy to use Canon shutter count software for Mac and Windows. Find the number of shutter actuations on a Canon EOS DSLR. How high can resolution and continuous shooting speed go? EOS-1D Mark II has the answer. The reborn EOS-1D achieves 8.2 effective megapixel resolution even at a.

If Canon did the replacement would they be able to give that info or history if I gave them the serial number? I've done a lot of checking, and it's the ORIGINAL shutter number that matters in determining the price. You can say the shutter was just replaced, and provide documentation to prove as much, but more often than not it won't increase the value of a working body that never had the shutter replaced. I'd say it's a safe bet the programs aren't lying--and that my original assessment was correct.

If you try and sell it, people will check the count, and they'll see 100k shots. Your body is worth $600-$700 at this point. Now, if it had an actual original count of 10k, it might be worth $850-$900. Personally, I would return it--it's a right you reserve as an ebay buyer.

Canon documentation can be doctored or forged. The count itself cannot be wiped clean (short of going through expensive 3rd party shutter replacement services that promise to reset your shutter count).

No, canon will NOT give you a history report over the phone. You need to have it sent in for a general check or cleaning, at which point they'll be happy to provide you with an indepth history report on the unit. I picked up the kit w/3 batteries, a few sd cards, and a bag for $750 which with the shutter count was a fair deal. I will try to work a discount $50-100 as I flip my gear quite a bit and would make more sense on a resell. If not will opt for the return and make a move on a CLP 7D.
